The plot is that Kevin "Neo" Anderson (Keanu Reeves) is a hacker who is recruited by Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) to pretty much save the world. His enemies are the agents of The Matrix and his friends are a few people who are part of the rebellion against IT. If I explain IT, the movie is ruined. The rest of the movie is action and weird stuff. Some of the plot is simple but most of it is complex and at points confusing.

Dark City is a great movie, The Matrix is a cool movie but it has one problem, Keanu Reeves. Man this guy stinks, can no one figure this out. Girls might like him but the man still cannot act. You can’t really go into the plot of the Matrix without spoilers, so I’m not going to spoil any part of this really good movie with a bad star.

The Wachowki Brothers (Bound) wrote and directed this movie. They are feeding off current paranoia of computers taking us over.  There are some very cool ways that some of the scenes are filmed, like some great slow motion shots with flying bullets. The one thing that makes this movie great is the action scenes and special effects. There were so many cool shooting scenes and great fighting/karate scenes that it made up for Keanu’s lame acting. The apparel they wear is perfect for the characthers in the film.

Dark City is the ultimate in paranoia flicks. You know movies that are about aliens ruling the world; we are their mice who they play with. Dark City is a movie that its brilliance comes through vision not words. The talking in Dark City is very limited and is only explained really by Keifer Sutherland’s character. This movie as in that one gives you little by little. Dark City was just far more interesting than The Matrix to me. It just had something special that was missing in this. I can’t put my finger on it, but I just know it wasn't there in this film.

Is this movie worth seeing? Yes, it is if you like action and thinking while your seeing a movie. If your more into just blowing up things you can tune the story of the movie out and just watch the action parts which is most of the movie. I know this review isn’t that informative but it does tell you that you should see the movie. 3.5 out of 4 Stars for cool, revolutionary action sequences and a great plot.
