The plot of the film is that McGregor plays a government agent who is an
expert in surveillance. He is sent on a mission to track Ewan McGregor puts an
ok performance. He does his job as the expert computer tracker/ stalker for the
government. Ashley Judd is very sexual and hypnotic plus her acting is great for
this role. But the movie just doesn't work. He follows her and follows her. What
starts off as a job becomes an obsession, which is hinted to as a thing Lucky
does a lot. This is supposed to be interesting but it's not. He watches her
seduce and murder men then he takes her garbage then he looks through it.
Being released in the month of studio crap, January, you would assume
this is crap and you'd be absolutely correct. It had a major promotion push
behind it the last two weeks after not having anything before. It is probable
that they just wanted to get the movie out there, capitalize on the popularity
of Judd and McGregor.
Eye of the Beholder was a bad movie with a very good style and
fine acting. Many bright and shining parts that don't fit together as a
whole. This makes for a weak movie not based on anything, with no truly
interesting characters. Not a recommendable movie. Rating:
